HORTICULTURE STUDY

Currently studying Horticulture. Learning about plants and combining art and graphics together in an outside environment. Personally developing and exploring the ways of how we use and throw away daily waste and maintaining our home environment. I'm interested in expanding my creative vision in various spaces, looking at landscape structure. I've been experimenting on various garden spaces repositioning natural garden objects such as stones, bricks, logs and plant pots. i am currently looking into working with members of the community to improve local open spaces.

SOUND RADIO 06

JUL-2006

I spent a few weeks down in London and carried out some voluntary work near where I was staying. Hackney Community estate was very packed with youthful energy. There was a music recording centre which was great for musicians to meet and jam together. I spent most the day there learning recording equipment and playing with bands.

Me and team workers there, Mehow and Medina Christian decided to put together a small event to engage with the public. We got boards, pens, paper and the band to perform outside. It was a hot evening and the only thing that was missing was the bbq. Overall it was quite successful and many of the residents came out to greet and join in.

I met many interesting people and was able to record music jam sessions.

STOCHOLM SWEDEN. FFYC 03

AUG-2003

Through Gallery 37 i was able to travel to Sweden and join a conference meeting that discussed young peoples talents and culture at Kulturhuset Stockholm. We made a short video about our passion and interests and this was shown at the exhibition space there. This was a great experience to meet like minded people and listen to different peoples views. I spent one week in Stockholm and went back the following year to catch up on what everyone had been doing.

GALLERY 37 03

AUG-2003

Gallery 37 was held outside the Rep Theatre in Birmingham designed for young adults to try out new skills and home on their creative ideas. With a selection of various arts to chose from such as music, drama, dance, and textiles. This was a great chance to meet new friends show and sell work to the public.
This was a changing period for me that explored a different creative side which was textiles. I then chose to study interior textiles to explore various inks and texture.
